Heath Slocum Swing

Heath Slocum finished 2nd in my 2009 Ballstriking Statistical Rankings . Here is his swing in slow motion.

I like the swing. Heath keeps the face from opening too much (maintains the twist-away). Any comment on the high finish? Does that prevent him from hitting hooks?

OOOOH ABS heresy! No elbow plane(rather TSP), no CP release (rather CF release, not to much swinging left) and the club looks like a ugly uprite cavity bag PING...!!!!!

He hits it pretty straight. There is some ABS stuff going on in here. The release is more like a hybrid CP and CF. He hits that PV5 point in perfect ABS form. Also uses an angled hinge.

I'd imagine he has had issues with some hooks because the face is a smidge closed at the top. Good swing, good ballstriker.

"some ABS stuff going on in here" ?? Care to elaborate? Is this referring to lagpressure's "advanced ball striking"? I'm in the dark here. Please illuminate. I'd love to here a more detailed breakdown of this swing - with it's theoretical pluses/minuses. Thanks

ABS = Advanced Ball Striking

Heath uses a bit of Module 3 in ABS which is 'swinging left' and how he gets extension well into the follow thru.

He's really not on the elbow plane and his footwork isn't really ABS-ish. Those are modules 1 and 2. But his swing does have pretty good module 3 stuff going on (swinging left, extension in the follow thru)
