I was farting around on the Web today and came across Manzella's video of Jodie Mudd.
For those who don't know, Mudd was an up and comer on the PGA Tour and then fell out of the scene and eventually started learning from Mac O'Grady. He came back with an exceptional looking golf swing, something raved about by fellow tour pros and adding to the legend of Mac O'Grady. Anyway, here's the link to the video, enjoy.
Sorry...but Jodie Mudd's swing was re-vamped by TGM golf instructor Tom Tomasello not Mac O'Grady.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jody Mudd had a great swing at Georgia Southern
DeleteAnd how do you know? Jodie Mudd was friends with Mac O'Grady for years. He also was never a player that "took lessons". His swing appeared to be a natural flow of body movement.
ReplyDeleteJodie Mudd (2010): "Back in the day, I had a pretty flowing, rhythmic motion. From 100 yards away there was a pleasing aesthetic, but that could only take me so far, because my alignments and geometries weren't great. I started working with Mac O'Grady in 1983. We kept the motion but cleaned up the alignments."
ReplyDeleteYes, Jodie kept the motion that he developed with Tom Tomasello. I have Jodie going through his swing with Tom Tomasello in Tom Tomasello's Myrtle Beach Deer Track Resort studio.
